Resources :: Our Communities :: Stayner
Stayner is a uniquely friendly town set on rich low-lying land on what was, 11,000 years ago, the shore of the great Algonquin Lake, just below the brow of the magnificent Niagara Escarpment.
From forestry and railroad roots in the early 1800s, a progressive town grew through the 20th Century to serve the surrounding farmlands. Today Stayner serves as the gateway community for four-season travelers to Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment and a place were 3,500 people live, work, play and raise their families.
Our stores and shops are largely independently-owned small business where the person who greets you at the door is likely also the cashier, the service manager, the complaints department and the owner.
Stayner is the heart of the municipality known as Clearview Township covering 557 square kilometers of unusual and fascinating geography including the Niagara Escarpment, the Minesing Swamp and the tributaries feeding into Nottawasga River and Nottawasga Bay.
